Fire destroys a cabin in Lehigh Township

A fire destroyed a small cabin in Lehigh Township, Carbon County, on Saturday night.

The cabin was located along Indian Run Road, just off Rockport Road and is near the Lehigh Gorge State Park.

The fire was discovered about midnight. Reportedly, the cabin was used by an out-of-area family on weekends. The family was at the cabin when the fire started and all made it to safety with no one reported injured. One fireman sustained a minor injury in battling the blaze.

Volunteers from the Lehigh/Lausanne, Citizens of Weaherly and White Haven fire companies responded to the scene along with the Weatherly ambulance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
