Two from Lansford injured in crash

Two Lansford residents were injured in a one-vehicle crash Saturday at 11:55 a.m. on State Route 209 in Blythe Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Joyce Card, 31, the driver of the vehicle, and Shawn Murphy, 30, a passenger, were transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South, Pottsville, for evaluation.

Police said Card was driving a 1995 Buick Regal westbound on Rt. 209 near Guers Topsoil and Mulch when she lost control of the vehicle upon approaching a left curve in the roadway. The car traveled southwest through the eastbound lane and eventually left the roadway, rolling over multiple times and coming to rest facing east.

Police said the car sustained moderate damages and was towed from the scene by K and K Towing.

Police saod multiple traffic citations will be filed against Card, including failure to drive at a safe speed and equipment violations.
