State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened on Saturday at 9:45 p.m. on Route 560, Silver Springs Boulevard, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Polilce said a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling south on the roadway when the operator was apparently adding unnecessary steering input, causing the truck to fishtail. The vehicle went off the roadway and struck a fence on the property on Hackett Kennels before fleeing the scene.Police said the truck is in its mid-90s, greenish in color with a silver stripe on the mid portion of both sides. It also has a square-shaped beacon light on top of the vehicle.Police are asking anyone with information on the indicent or truck to contact them at 610-377-4270.
