Car crashes on snow-covered road

Brian Bender, 29, of Shenandoah, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash on snow-covered Route 61 in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County, according to state police at the Frackville barracks.

Police said he was southbound on the roadway, When approaching a left curve that police said was partially snow-covered the Chevrolet Cavalier went out of control, traveled southwest into an embankment and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof.

Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said the driver was not cited because of the roadway conditions.
