Subway Santa

Due to last week's inclement weather, the Tamaqua Subway's Brunch With Santa scheduled for last Sunday has been rescheduled. The event will now be held Dec. 19, from 10 a. m. to 2 p.m. Santa will have a free gift for children under the age of 12.

St. John UCC

The Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. A Christmas Cantata will be presented during the service. The service will be followed by a time of fellowship. The weekly service will be broadcast on radio station WLSH, 1410 AM, at 11:30 a.m.

Christmas Eve services will be held at 4 p.m., including a Quiet Communion, and at 7:30 and 10 p.m.

Calvary Methodist

The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. The service will include the lighting of the Advent Candle.

Also Sunday, the Calvary Church Christmas Carolers will leave the church parking lot at 4 p.m. Anyone who wishes to sing-a-long should be at the lot before the departure time.

An evening prayer and share service is held Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Trinity UCC

The Rev. Dr. David Grant will officiate at the 10 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Trinity United Church of Christ. The service will include the lighting of the Fourth Advent Candle and words for young Christians. Nursery care is available during the service. Sunday school classes will meet at 8:45 a.m.

Also on Sunday, Open House at the Parsonage will begin at 11 a.m.

The Christmas Eve service will be held Dec. 24, at 7:30 p.m. The candle light service will include Holy Communion.

St. John Lutheran

The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. service this Fourth Sunday of Advent in the Fellowship Hall of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The combined Sunday school program/worship service will be held Dec. 20, at 9:15 a.m.

Christmas Eve services will include a family service at 7 p.m. and the Festival Candlelight service will be at 10 p.m.

St. Jerome's

Christmas confessions will be heard in St. Jerome's Catholic Church at the following dates and times: Dec. 19, 3 to 3;45 p.m.; Dec. 21, 22 and 23, 4-5 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.; and Dec. 24, 1-2 p.m.

Christmas Masses will be celebrated at 4 and 6 p.m. and midnight on Christmas Eve and at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day.

SS. Peter and Paul

The choirs of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will rehearse on Wednesday. Youth Choir will rehearse from 6-7 p.m., followed by Adult Choir rehearsal from 7-8 p.m.

The Christmas Mass schedule will include: Christmas Eve, 7 and 9 p.m.; Christmas Day, 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Christmas memorial flowers, red poinsettias wrapped in gold foil, may be taken to the rectory at any time.

The New Year's holiday Mass schedule will be: New Year's Eve, Mass at 7 p.m.; New Year's Day, Masses at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Zion Lutheran

The Rev. Debra Ernst will officiate at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services this First Sunday of Advent in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The early service will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Also on Sunday, Acolyte rehearsal will be held at 2 p.m.

Christmas Eve candlelight services will be held at 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Both services will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

On Dec. 27, there will be one worship service, at 9:30 a.m. This will be a "Service of Stories and Carols."
