A musical Christmas present for Stephanie
LINDA KOEHLER/TIMES NEWS Stephanie Spatz, 16, of Mertztown, won a Kenny G soprano saxophone at the Kenny G concert at Penn's Peak.
One Kenny G fan got an early Christmas present at his performance at Penn's Peak Thursday night.
Stephanie Spatz, 16, won a soprano saxophone that was designed by Kenny G.
Kenny raffles off one of these beauties at every concert.
After Stephanie's number was called, she, along with her parents, Lori and Allen Spatz, were invited to come on stage. Sharing a bit of chit chat with them, Kenny learned that Stephanie plays the saxophone in her high school band and that her father just bought her a new saxophone.
Kenny quipped, "Return it and get your money back."
He then took the brand new saxophone and played a song just for Stephanie and her parents. When he was finished, he handed it to her. It was then placed in a case and after hugs, they went back to their seats.
After the show, Stephanie shared that she is a junior at Brandywine Heights High School in Topton, PA and lives in Mertztown. She plays all four saxophones, soprano, alto, tenor and bass.
Her mother plays the saxophone since elementary school also and all three of the Spatzs are big Kenny G fans. This was Stephanie's first time seeing him perform in person.
She added that when her number had been called she was in complete shock.
"I didn't think it was real."
Unable to stop smiling, she added, "This has been just an amazing experience."
