Proposals to provide transportation services are sought by the Northern Lehigh School District.

The district will accept requests for proposals for district wide transportation services until 1 p.m. Dec. 14.Greg Derr, director of support services and transportation, said the district has sought out the RFP's because its current contract will expire in the summer."Our student contract with First Student ends on June 30, 2010," Derr said. "We thought we would go back out to bid for transportation to ensure that we're getting the best price and quality for the taxpayers money."Derr said the services will include regular transportation to and from school, transportation for all the nonpublic schools, as well as after-school activities and athletic event transportation.The award date set for Jan. 11, Derr said.
