Rain forced postponement of both softball playoff games involving Times News area teams and also the District 11 Baseball Championships scheduled for today.

The 3A softball semifinal between Palmerton and Bethlehem Catholic will now be played on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. starting time. The 4A semifinal between Pleasant Valley and Bangor was halted with the Bears holding a 4-0 lead.The game will be resumed at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the bottom of the first inning with two outs. Crystal Morales will be the batter for the Bears with a runner on first..

The District 11 Class A and Class 3A baseball championships have been postponed to 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday because of the rain in the forecast.

In Class A, Schuylkill Haven meets Tri-Valley at 4 p.m. and Tamaqua will take on Blue Mountain at 6:30.
