Police in Mahoning Township are investigating a hit-and-run accident which occurred on March 7 at 9:15 p.m.

Police said the accident happened on Mahoning Mountain Road.According to Chief of Police Audie Mertz, a gray Mazda sedan spun out while traveling south on Mahoning Mountain Road.Police said the Mazda crossed into the northbound lane and was struck on the passenger side by a white Chevy truck driven by a resident of Lower Nis Hollow Drive.After impact the Mazda driven by a younger male reversed into the truck, causing additional damage, before fleeing the scene. The vehicle was observed running the stop sign at Mahoning Mountain and Dinkey Road where it turned south onto Dinkey Road.The Mazda is possibly a model 3 or 6 ranging in year from 2003-2010.
