Class of 1984

The Palmerton Area Class of 1984 is seeking the following class members: Tim Bellesfield, Lillian Bramich, Lanna Kline, John Leiby, Ruby Nguyen, Ceclia Wall, and Stacy Lake. Over 1,200 audio books are currently available.Also, the Web site is linked to job resources and a calendar of events to see what's happening at the library.Blood drive at the Village at PalmertonThe Village at Palmerton, 71 Princeton Ave., is hosting a Blood Drive on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please call (610) 824-7406 to reserve your spot and help save a life.Your blood donation is very important to the health and welfare of hospital patients in the area, as the need for blood is never ending. Blood products play a vital role in saving the lives of premature infants, accident/trauma victims, cardiac patients, individuals undergoing chemotherapy for cancer or leukemia, burn victims, surgical patients, hospital patients undergoing an organ or bone marrow transplants, and individuals suffering from aplastic or sickle cell anemia.Although you may never know the recipient(s) of your blood donation, you can be assured that they and their families are extremely grateful and one day you or someone you love may need it.Anyone can donate if you are 17 years or older. There are fewer restrictions then there were in the past. Over time they have found ways to make blood donations safer.If you are concerned about being able to participate, you may call Miller-Keystone Blood Center at 1-800-223-6667High school bloodmobileMiller-Keystone Blood Center conducted a bloodmobile at Palmerton Area High School on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Twenty-nine students, faculty, and staff members registered, and 33 units of blood were collected.Danielle Norris and Liz Raub, and National Honor Society members Danielle Bissell, Jess Fegley, Steph Gursky, Jay Hall, Dan Haney, Robert Keyser, Ryan Kleintop, Madeline Koller, Jesse Reis, and Sara Smiley assisted with registration. Norris, Raub, Hall, Kleintop and Koller were also donors.The next M-K bloodmobile at the high school will be in November. There will be a community bloodmobile on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the First United Church of Christ.
