Lehighton AMVETS give quarterly report

Lehighton AMVETS, Elwood Miller Post 106, have issued their quarterly report.

Adjutant Randolph Rabenold reports that the post (as part of the United Veterans Organization) Honor Guard has participated in the military funerals of Blaise Scarpenda, U.S, Army - Korea; Edward Zehaska,

U.S.N. World War II; Frank Bayer, U.SN. - World War II; Delbert Solt, U.S. Army, World War II: First Lt. Marion Jones, U.S. Army, World War II; Mike Haberman, U.S. Air Force - Vietnam; Wayne Bauchpies, U.S. Army - Korea; Robert Moser, U.S. Navy, Vietnam; averaging about 12 members per funeral.The Post also participated in a Patriots Day ceremony on Sept. 11 and three different Veterans Day ceremonies in Lehighton, as well as a Trees for Troops ceremony at Yensers Tree Farm, a Doyle Heffley meeting at the American Legion and various other events.They also donated about $200 to local charities, and awarded their annual $250 scholarship to a worthy high school senior, Sarah Shriner.The organization meets on the third Sunday of each month at the Lehighton
