Mahoning police probe two alleged assaults

The Mahoning Township Police Department is investigating two alleged assaults.

The first was reported on Dec. 29.Police said they were dispatched to Lower Nis Hollow Drive for a reported assault.When police arrived, the alleged victim reported he had a verbal altercation with his wife that turned physical when the offender, Elizabeth Rabenold, 46, grabbed him by the face. Officers said they observed injuries on the victims face.Elizabeth was allegedly intoxicated and stated they had argued over the Eagles/Cowboys football game. She told officers to take her to jail, and blamed the dog for the victim's injuries.She was charged with simple assault and harassment a Summary offense. She was transported to the Carbon County Prison, and was later released on $2,500 unsecured bail.On Dec. 30, Mahoning Township Police were dispatched to Gnaden Huetten campus of Blue Mountain Health System for an assault.On arrival, the alleged assault victim reported that she was driving around with her boyfriend, Michael Fisher, 27, of Lehighton and another male.Police allege that while passengers in a car, Fisher and the victim verbally argued which led to Michael striking the victim with a closed fist. Police said the victim's right eye was black and blue and was almost swollen shut. The victim was dropped off at the hospital by the driver of the vehicle and Fisher. He was later located and he indicated the assault had taken place on Konowaletz Road.Fisher was charged with simple assault and harassment. He was transported to the Carbon County Prison where he remains on $2,000 cash bail.
