Jim Thorpe driver facing DUI charge

A Jim Thorpe driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident that occurred about 12:25 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2013.

Borough police said Lindsey Jean Bales, 27, of 523 North St., Apt. 2A, was stopped while operating a 2007 Toyota Yaris along Lehigh Avenue, for a vehicle code violation.She displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests, police said. She was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. The test revealed a .24 BAC.Bales was charged with two counts of DUI and one a summary offense of period for requiring lighted lamps.
