Sunday marks the beginning of the West End Fair, which will be packed full of food, fun and entertainment for all ages.

It's also the date of the West End Fair's Got Talent contest, back after a successful debut last year. It will take place at 7 p.m. on the Main Stage. This year's emcee will be Galla of the Dan and Galla act, who perform daily at the fair.This year, 40 entrants sent in videos of their performances. From that, the talent committee, Pam Borger, Dana Borger, Krista Borger, Andrea Lazicki, Megan Lazicki, Shannon Mackes, Susan Shupp, Tonya Weiss, Jim Johnston, Brenda and Doug Hawk, selected the top 15 finalists, who will perform live on the Main Stage.Five of the acts were featured last year. They are: Elizabeth Gillen, 16, Kresgeville, singer; The Red Pandas, 16-17 years old, Saylorsburg, band/singers; Cody Edman, 18, Effort, singer/guitar; Dance 'Til Dawn Dance Studio (ages 16-24); and Laura Micari, 17, Pocono Mountain, singer.The 10 newcomers are: Beautiful Oblivion, a country band, Slatington; Jordyn Albanese, 14, Pen Argyl, singer/guitar/harmonica; Dance 'Til Dawn Dance Studio (ages 15-17), Brodheadsville; Heday Inoue, 27, Gilbert, singer; Becca Kling, 20, Port Matilda, singer/guitar; Lacey Lynn Pugh, 16, singer, Bangor; Kayli Reily, 19, Hellertown, singer; Chris Edman, 44, Effort, singer/guitar; Meghan Wotring, 22, East Stroudsburg University, singer; and Julia Glitzer, 14, Lehighton, singer/piano.After their performances, it will be up to the judges, Nicole Walters of TV 12, Erica Harper of WSBG, and Randy Cramer and RJ Cramer of the Cramer Brothers' Band, to determine who is the most talented.First-place winner will receive $250 and perform on the Main Stage at 6 p.m. Aug. 30.
