A Schuylkill County driver fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and crashed.

State police at Frackville said Demetria A. Shemansik, 30, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Trax northbound on the Burma Road about 3:16 a.m. on Sunday when he fell asleep and lost control. The Trax went onto the berm and struck a PPL utility pole splitting it in half. The Trax then rolled onto its roof and came to rest along the east berm facing south.Shemansik was not injured. Troopers said Shemansik was given two citations for the crash.
