The Carbon County Democratic Executive Committee will fill a vacant ballot position for a four-year term of office of director on the Panther Valley School District Board of Education.

The vacancy was created upon the death of the late Richard Zabroski, who won a Democratic nomination in the Primary Election.

As per the party's bylaws, committee members from the towns of Summit Hill, Lansford and Nesquehoning will select a candidate to take the ballot position for the Nov. 5 General Election.

Any registered Democrat who resides in the Panther Valley School District who is interested in being considered for the ballot position must submit a letter of intent and resume to Michael McCall, Panther Valley Area chairman of the executive committee, P.O. Box 62, Summit Hill, Pa. 18250.The deadline for that submission is Friday, Sept. 13.
