The Mahoning Township Lions Club held a Lions Appreciation Night honoring businesses and individuals who strive to make a difference in the community. The dinner was held Wednesday at the Normal Square Inn in Lehighton. Among the honorees were, from left: Gene Durigan; Tom Zimmerman Jr., Zimmerman's Dairy; Tom Zimmerman IV; Lions President Robert Miller Jr. of the Mahoning Valley Ambulance; Dr. Mary Lombardo of the Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital; Commissioner Tom Gerhard; and Commissioner Chairman Wayne Nothstein. Lehighton Hardware, Verona Pizza House, Marzen Hardware and Feed, and Millers Restaurant were also recipients, but were unable to send a representative.
