Members of the Tamaqua Zion Lutheran Church's blanket ministry finish packing 25 of their creations after the coverings had been blessed by Saturday worship leader Cindy White, left. With White are Judy Brennan, Gail and Bob Jones and Carol Dietrich. Other members of the blanket ministry include Beverly Batman, Shirley Becker, Jean Derr, Velma Mantz, Marion Klein and Mary Jane Turton. The group made 60 blankets this year from material donated by members of the community. The first batch of blankets was sent to a local nursing home and the remainder of the blankets will go to Birthright in Frackville. Most of the work is done Monday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon during the summer months. The ministry is open to all area residents. To join the group, contact Judy Brennan at 570-668-1197.
