Identity theft incidents probed

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating reported identity theft or attempted ID theft incidents.

Bonnie J. Kaminski, 46, of 11 Patten Circle in Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported someone used her credit card number to make 18 purchases totaling $1,655.60 without her knowledge or permission. The incident was reported on April 2.Frances Gourdet, of 1235 Glennbrook Road in Bartonsville, Jackson Township, Monroe County, reported someone accessed her bank account. The report did not indicate if the victim lost anything. The incident occurred on March 18.Melissa A. Doll, 29, of 30 Tamarack Terrace, Indian Mountain Lakes in Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, reported someone filed her 2013 federal and state income taxes without her knowledge or consent. The incident occurred Feb. 19.Sondra Lee Kish, 52, of Reeders, reported someone attempted to use her debit card at the Giant Supermarket along Route 611, in Bartonsville, on March 10 but the transaction was declined due to the victim's fraud detection unit of her financial institution. No money was lost by Kish, troopers noted.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
