State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a rear-end type crash along SR61 in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, that occurred about 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5.

Troopers said Cynthia J. Heffner, 31, of Orwigsburg, was in the northbound passing lane stopped to make a left turn into a restaurant parking lot when her 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck in the rear of a 1997 Subaru Legacy driven by a 17-year-old male from Schuylkill Haven.Upon impact the Legacy spun about 170 degrees clockwise and slide across both northbound lanes and went onto the berm and then down a 30-foot embankment. After impact the Cavalier was pushed forward and remained in the passing lane.The teen and passengers, a 15-year-old male from Deer Lake and John Hollenbush, 18, of Cressona, and Heffner were all not injured. Both vehicles sustained severe damages and had to be towed from the scene, troopers said.The teen was cited for careless driving.
