Lansford's Kennedy Park Christmas Saturday

Lansford Alive will host its annual Christmas in Kennedy Park Saturday.

The event will begin at 5 p.m., in the park on the west side of town.Marie Ondrus, a member of Lansford Alive and organizer of the event, explained that the night's festivities will include the traditional the lighting of the evergreens in the park; Christmas performances by the Panther Valley School Band and bell ringers, under the direction of Mark Christ; and Santa Claus making an appearance.New for 2013, Ondrus pointed out, will be the naming of Little Miss Snowflake; a live radio broadcast by Kerry Dowd, program director at 105.5 WMGH/1410 WLSH; and Christmas vocals by Kathy Crampsie and Taylor Horvat, along with the newly formed Panther Valley Children's Choir.Ondrus thanked Jenn Maynard and Val Horvat for helping to coordinate the Panther Valley Children's Choir for the event.The Lansford Fire Company will also be on-hand serving coffee and hot chocolate; and Crystal View Carriage Services will provide horse drawn carriage rides.
