A Jim Thorpe man is facing a charge of simple assault and other charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Borough police were dispatched to 15 E. Fourth St., about 12:58 a.m. for an active domestic dispute. On scene officers heard a male and female screaming and yelling inside the residence. Officers knocked on the door several times but no one answered.Police then entered the home and encountered Jennifer Dennis and Brian Keith Moore, 35, both of the residence. Moore was visibly intoxicated and belligerent towards police.Dennis told the officers that Moore had grabbed her by the throat. Police observed recent physical injuries to Dennis which were consistent with her claim.Moore was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor two; persistent disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor three; and summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct.He was lodged in the county prison in Nesquehoning pending arraignment, police said.
