Penn's Peak celebrated its 10th anniversary Sunday with rock and roll music coupled with dancing, food, and even a Chinese auction.

Hundreds attended the event at the Jim Thorpe venue, which featured free concerts by two groups: Clyde Barrow and the Legendary Barbusters and The 70s Rewind.

The 70s Rewind accented their performance with videos which included movie clips, commercials, and concert scenes.

The Chinese auction was staged to benefit the local chapter of Dream Come True, which grants wishes to terminally ill children.

It was the coldest day of the winter season on Sunday, but it didn't deter people from attending the event and having fun, fun, fun.

"This is awesome," said Bailey Nequis of Easton, who said she was referring to both the venue and the music. She said she especially enjoyed the view from the mountaintop concert hall.

"It's really nice for the owners of Penn's Peak to do this," Nequis remarked. "I've come here for a few concerts and always enjoy myself. I can't believe they're here 10 years already."

Penn's Peak officially opened Feb. 4, 2003, with a concert by rising country star Brad Paisley before a sold-out crowd.

Since then, some of the greatest names in all genres of music have appeared, including Sha Na Na, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Olivia Newton-John, Warrant, Glenn Campbell, and The Allman Brothers. Comedians such as George Carlin and Howie Mandel also have performed on the spacious wooden stage.

The next concert at the venue is this coming Wednesday night

In what has become almost a Thanksgiving Eve tradition at Penn's Peak, Dark Star Orchestra, which recreates the sounds of the Grateful Dead, will be in concert at 8 p.m.

Country star Travis Tritt returns to the Penn's Peak stage at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

Penn's Peak is also known for its luncheon shows. The 2014 schedule features such events as Bill Haley's Comets, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and Branson Fever.

The venue hosts numerous telethons each year, including the American Cancer Society's and one each November for Dream Come True.
