Special Olympics Carbon County is ready to start bowling training for the 2013-14 season, and is in need of several volunteers to help its athletes during training, as well as the day of the competition.

The group is in need of about 22 volunteers for Fritz Lanes in Lehighton, and 10 volunteers for Haja Lanes in Palmerton.Training will start at the Fritz Lanes in Lehighton on Friday, Nov. 29, from 6-8 p.m. Training at the Haja Lanes will start from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1.Anyone who would like to volunteer may contact Sheri Anthony, SOPA Volunteer Coordinator, at 610-737-0469, or at
