Sentencings were imposed by Schuylkill County judges on defendants charged with various criminal offenses.

Two defendants were entered into the Accelerated Rehabilitated Disposition probation program and one was removed.Jeremy Cappel, 23, Pottsville, and Rachel Adams, 26, Frackville, were admitted by President Judge William E. Baldwin into the ARD program.Capel was charged with driving under the influnce of alcohol and Adams charged with retail theft and both were placed for 12 months. If they complete all the terms fixed by court without violations then they can clear their name of the criminal charge.Cappel has a $500 assessment to pay and Adams $350 to defray the cost of the program. Cappel also must enroll in the alcohol highway safety program, undergo outpatient counseling, pay $300 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Mcare fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement fund, and his driver's license is suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of driving a car without an official inspection certificate was fined $25 plus $50 costs.Adams must pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $60 restitution to Turkey Hill Mini Mart. Both have to pay a $50 monthly probation fee while in the program and perform 10 hours of community service.Jolena Allyn Deeter, 26, Pottsville, was removed by Judge John E. Domalakes from the ARD program and the case was placed back on the trial list.Deeter was admitted into the program in June 2012 but now faces trial on charges of three counts of possession of a controlled substance filed by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.Summary hearingsJudge Domalakes held hearings on appeals filed from summary convictions by Magisterial District Judges.Michael J. Bolen, 56, Blue Bell, Montgomery County, was found not guilty because the Commonwealth could not produce any witnesses against him. Bolen had appealed a fine of $63 plus $87 costs imposed by the district judge for speeding on Maple Street in Rush Township. The prosecutor was Rush Patrolman Adam Sinton.Victor Diaz, Shenandoah, was found not guilty of a charge of failing to cut the grass and weeds on his property. He was adjudged guilty by a district judge and was fined $300. The charge was brought by Code Enforcement Officer John Bpxer.Robert Arbushites, 30, Shenandoah Heights, West Mahanoy Township, changed his plea to not guilty to guilty after his case was called for trial and was fined $300 plus $1.09 costs on a charge of striking a parked car and failing to stop.Karyn Rice, 52, Pottsville, was found guilty of several charges, driving while his license was suspended, was fined $200 plus $50 costs, a second count of driving while his license was suspended was fined $500 plus $99 costs, and on a charge of failing to stop for a red light on SR61 in North Manheim Township was fined $25 plus $50 costs.
