The Monroe County Veterans Association is sponsoring "On This Day of Honor and Remembrance" Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday, May 26 at noon at Courthouse Square, N. 7th Street, Stroudsburg.
The Master of Ceremony will be Glen Lippincott (BOD MCVA, VVA Chapter 678). Special guest of honor will be Harvey Gilbert, U.S. Coast Guard World War II, age 90.
The American Freedom Singers Glee Club, the Kearns Family Pipe & Drum Corps and Abe and Lisa Gee will offer patriotic music.
Speakers will be Lt. Col. Daniel E. Harris of the 369th Special Troops Battalion Commander, state Rep. Rosemary M. Brown, 189th District, Joel W. Keller- Monroe County Office of Veterans Affairs and state Rep. Mario M. Scavello, 176th District.
There will be a moment of silence and tolling of the bells to honor those who have fallen, for each branch of the service.
Those who would like to attend the picnic at VFW Post, 2540, after the ceremony, should go to the podium for a wristband.
