A report of a small explosion last night in Lansford resulted in the discovery of an alleged methamphetamine lab and the arrest of two men and a woman.

Firefighters were called to 117 East Patterson St. shortly after 10 p.m. for a report of someone throwing a fiery object into the rear window of the home."The fiery object resulted in a small explosion flash fire inside the home," said Lansford Police Sergeant/Detective Jack Soberick."The fire initiated inside the building and some of the first responding people, among them myself, we found the remnants of what is called a mobile lab or meth lab," said Soberick, who added that they arrived to a moderate layer of smoke in the home, as well as a strong fuel odor.Allegedly the meth lab was operated by Tyler Strawdinger, who is being sought by police. Arraigned before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton were:• Jackie Slaven, 37, of East Patterson Street, who has been charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution. She resides in the home with three children ages 6-8.• Kyle M. Frantz, 19, of East Patterson Street, who has been charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.• Scott R. Frantz, 24, of East Patterson Street, who has been charged with possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia."The products that are used for making drugs and meth are very dangerous products when they're combined and that's what interacted here at this residence and fortunately no one was injured or killed," said Mark Nalesnik, a member of Carbon County EMA.At first a male and female were taken into custody. Police added that another man, not in the building at the time, was also taken into custody for possessing drug paraphernalia.Firefighters on scene stated that all the emergency responders exposed to the smoke had to go through a decontamination process.Officials added that an investigation team from the state police was expected to go through the home today."In addition to 117 East Patterson Street, we are also investigating another property located at the rear of 245 East Ridge St. after we found materials consistent with the process of making meth," said Soberick.Just over three weeks ago, officials raided 346 West Patterson St. in Lansford and found a mobile meth lab. Two children, ages 2 and 4, were in the house.Responding in addition to Lansford, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were officials from the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) officials and their decon team.Police, firefighters and fire police volunteers closed US209 during the investigation and decontamination. It was still closed as of press time.Soberick said they are still investigating and are expected to release more information later today.
