Driver flees crash scene, later caught

A Northumberland County driver crashed his car early this morning in Schuylkill County, then fled the scene on foot, only to be located later and arrested.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 1:30 a.m. along SR209 (S. Tremont St.), in Reilly Township. Troopers said Matthew C. Graver, 28, of Zerbe, was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta northbound when, for unknown reasons, the car left the road and entered the east berm.Graver began turning the car left as it continued along the berm for another nine feet before re-entering the road. The car then continued for about 30 feet before began to roll over. It rolled one time and came to rest on its wheels in the middle of the road.Graver then fled the scene on foot. A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of local fire companies, troopers said. Graver was located on railroad tracks nearby and eventually walked home.He faces charges including driving on roadways laned for traffic and other vehicle code violations.The car was towed from the scene.
