Dear Editor:

I liked Joe Ganelman's piece on scoops. I remember my big scoop. It came at a time when if you wanted to see a movie you had to go out of Carbon County. I, as a correspondent, liked to cover "unimportant" meetings like the Mahoning Township Planning Commission. One of those meetings there was a Dr. Yanero and another gentleman. They informed the Commission that they were planning to take a portion of the former Brights Building and put in a multi-plex with 9 theaters. I recognized this was welcome news and my big scoop. Now people still attend and enjoy movies, and theater #1 is extra large for the big name movies. That always gives me a good feeling: My scoop.

Respectfully yours,

Dana Phipps
