If you are a high school student who loves to write and would like the opportunity to see your work in print, the TIMES NEWS invites you to submit your work for possible publication in our newspaper.

Poems, essays, short stories and works of non-fiction will be considered for use in our Lifestyle section on a random basis, as part of a new feature called "Young Voices." There will be no compensation for any work submitted, and all items are subject to editing.

We ask that high school English teachers share this information with their students, and encourage them to submit their work as well. Students who are home-schooled are also invited to participate.

Short stories should be no longer than two typed pages, single spaced. Essays or works of non-fiction should be no longer than one and one-half pages, single spaced; and poems should be no longer than one page, single spaced.

Please indicate what type of work the piece is, for example, a poem, short story, etc. Include your full name and your age, your address, email address and phone number, the name of your high school and your grade, as well as the name of your English teacher and his or her contact information.

Also include a current picture to be used as a head shot with your work.

Submit writing selections to Karen Cimms, lifestyle editor, TIMES NEWS, P.O. Box 239, Lehighton, PA 18235; or kcimms@tnonline.com [1]. For more information, email or call 610-377-2051, ext. 3140.
