A raid at a home in Lehighton on Saturday by police and fire department personnel resulted in the dismantling of a 'confirmed' methamphetamine lab and the arrests of two individuals.

The activity occurred at a residence at 400 Mahoning Sreet, which is at the intersection of Fourth and Mahoning streets.Arraigned on charges before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko of Weatherly and committed to Carbon County Prison, were:• Todd Stephen Greene, 38, of 400 Mahoning Street, Lehighton.He was charged with manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; conspiracy - manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and operating a methamphetamine lab.Judge Homanko listed bail at $150,000 for Green.• Floyd Warren Michael, 27, of 411 Gypsy Hill Gardens, Lehighton.He was charged with manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; manufacture of a controlled substance; operating a methamphetamine lab, and manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.All the charges against the two individuals are felonies.Preliminary hearings have tentatively been scheduled for the two suspects on March 20 at the office of District Judge Edward Lewis of Jim Thorpe.The raid was organized by the Allentown office of the Pa. Attorney General's office. The arresting officer is Agent Charles W. Horvath.Assisting the Attorney General's office were police officers from Lehighton borough, Mahoning Township, and the Pa. State Police. The Lehighton Fire Department also was dispatched as well as local fire police.Traffic was shut down for over a block in each direction of the site of the raid for several hours. Some homes surrounding the targeted site were evacuated.State troopers donned protective clothing and air filtration devices while conducting the raid.Lehighton Chief of Police Neal Ebbert said the Attorney General's office was in control of the raid.Ebbert said it was "confirmed that it was a meth lab." He added that it appeared individuals "were in the process to start making the product."A Kentucky man who ran a methamphetamine laboratory above a Lehighton bar the first authorities discovered in Carbon County could spend more than 20 years in prison under a sentence handed down Monday.This was the second meth lab raided in Lehighton in the past seven years.Ryan Loveless, 31, of Kentucky, who said he was making the drug to be sold in his home state, was arrested after police conducted a raid in an apartment on Dec. 17, 2005. Loveless was renting atop a barroom.Loveless was sentenced to two to four years in a state prison. Also in 2005, Loveless was sentenced on Northampton County drug charges to 28 to 56 months in state prison, and said he has 14 years left to serve in Kentucky on various charges.Loveless had walked away from Northampton County Prison while taking out the garbage Dec. 7, 2005. Police got a tip that he was living in Lehighton and raided the apartment.Loveless' girlfriend, Doris Meece, 36, also was arrested in the raid and is served a one- to three-year state prison sentence.Loveless had told investigators he worked for an organization that distributes methamphetamine and was making the drug for them. He said members of the organization paid for him to live in Pennsylvania so he could avoid charges in Kentucky.In the past three years, meth labs have been raided in Coaldale, East Penn Township, Rush Township, and most recently Summit Hill.
