A Mahanoy City woman has been cited by McAdoo Police following a traffic stop on Feb. 1.
Officers were on routine patrol at 10:01 p.m. when they observed a red 2004 Subaru Outback traveling in front of the patrol car on South Kennedy Drive. The Subaru's license plate lights were not operating so the officers initiated a traffic stop.
The driver of the Subaru was identified as Debra Ann Neary, 54, of 1133 E. Centre St. She smelled strongly of alcohol and officers noted her eyes were glossy. Neary attempted, and failed, three field sobriety tests. A portable breath test indicated a blood-alcohol level of .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08.
Neary refused to submit to blood tests. She was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to meet general lighting requirements.
