Nesquehoning women dine out

The Nesquehoning Woman's Club held its closing dinner recently at the Normal Square Inn. Gabriella Frey, a freshman at Panther Valley High School, provided entertainment for the club by singing. Frey was the first place winner in the Panther Valley High School Talent Show and is entering the 10th grade.

In other club business:• The club donated $100 to the Free Summer Lunch Program for the children at the Methodist Church in town.• Club dues were raised to $15 a year to defer the cost of the food for the hospitality committee each month.• A cook book will be printed for a fundraiser with recipes submitted by club members.• The Christmas dinner will be held at Maple Shade Nursing Home with a donation to be made to the town's food pantry instead of to the nursing home.The next executive board meeting will be held at the home of club president Carol Zickler on Sunday, July 14 at 2 p.m.
