Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Strohl of Walnutport are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married on July 31, 1948 at the First United Church of Christ in Palmerton.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Allen R. and Carrie Mae (Kipp) Kresge and stepdaughter of the late Hattie Crissman.Charles is the son of the late Floyd and Ethel Strohl.They met after Chuck returned from serving in the Navy during World War II. He was driving by Shirley's home, where she was outside taking pictures with her camera. He stopped and asked her to take his picture too. That was the beginning of many good things to come.Chuck and Shirley spent most of their married lives living in Palmerton. They are the parents of three children, Deborah Kochanasz of Allentown, Keith C. Strohl of Palmerton and the late Roxanne Strohl. They also have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.The couple was recently honored at a small gathering of family and friends.
