Carbon man facing Monroe counts

A Carbon County man is facing drug and related charges following an incident in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to the Interstate Exxon station, located along SR115, in Tunkhannock Township, about 11:45 p.m. on July 25 for a report of a male smoking crack cocaine inside the bathroom of the business, and then smoking crack cocaine while sitting in a vehicle outside the in the parking lot.Upon arrival officers made contact with Joseph Bassetti, 40, of Jim Thorpe. He exhibited signs of crack cocaine use, police said. A search of Bassetti revealed several crack cocaine "rocks", a crack pipe, and a brillo used for smoking crack cocaine.He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville for arraignment. He was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness, and driving with a suspended license.
