Tamaqua business receives House citation

State Rep. Jerry Knowles presented Charles X. Block of Tamaqua with a House of Representative Citation upon their celebration of their 90th anniversary.

Charles X. Block was established by Charles X. Block and operated by his son, Ted, from 1963 until 2011, when it was purchased by Ralph and Jeannette Richards.The business offers a wide array of apparel and services, including men's suits, tuxedos, rentals, clothing alterations, bridal wear restoration, personalized vinyl banners and shoe resoling.Active in the community, Charles X. Block is a longtime member of the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce and provides fundraising opportunities for nonprofit organizations.The citation adds:"Charles X. Block has maintained a tradition of excellence, remaining responsive to the ever-changing needs of the community it serves. Its steady progress is a tribute to key leaders and dedicated employees who have carried it to its present heights and built a foundation for a bright future."
