Tamaqua Fire Chief Tom Hartz, in vehicle, talks with fire police Captain Bob Schlorf and Patrolman Anthony Stanell about the downed pole that caused 150 PPL customers around Owl Creek in Tamaqua to be without power last evening, as well as the closure of Owl Creek Road. "The pole appeared to have fallen on its own," said Tamaqua Fire Chief Tom Hartz, who added that there was no evidence related to other causes. Fire police closed the 200 block of Owl Creek Road during the response. PPL restored power within a few hours.
