A large number of Penn Forest residents found themselves without power this morning.

Approximately 1,638 homes and businesses in Penn Forest Township were without power starting at 7:15 a.m. The power was restored at 8:50 a.m.PPL officials discovered that the power outage was caused by a bird coming into contact with equipment at a regional substation in Penn Forest.
