A former Carbon County resident, who spent time in the county prison for assaulting his mother, is facing attempted murder and related charges in Bucks County.

Dale Wakefield Jr., 21, has been accused by police with stabbing a homeless man more than 70 times. The attack is believed to have occurred last Wednesday night.According to the Bucks County Courier Times, Wakefield fled the state but was located at a motel in Baltimore and arrested. Police are going to extradite him back to Pennsylvania.On March 19 Wakefield was sentence by Carbon Judge Steven R. Serfass to serve seven to 23 months in the county prison after pleading guilty in January to assaulting his mother with a BB gun and threatening her with a knife. He was given credit for 199 days spent in jail on the charges and was released on March 25.He pleaded to one count each of simple assault and terroristic threats for a Sept. 2, 2012, incident in Penn Forest Township. Charges of reckless endangering and other counts were dropped in a plea bargain.State police at Fern Ridge charged Wakefield after troopers responded to his mother's home for a reported domestic incident.His mother told troopers that her son became enraged when she refused to let him have her vehicle. Troopers said he grabbed his mother by the hair, threw her against a wall, held a knife to her throat, then pointed a BB gun at her. He swung the gun "like a baseball bat" at her and fired a BB, hitting her in the right thigh causing a bruise.He had fled the home prior to the arrival of troopers but was later located, charged and jailed. He was also charged with escape stemming from the same incident.In Bucks County Wakefiled is accused of stabbing George Mohr, 71, near the Doylestown Train Station, according to the Bucks County newspaper. The newspaper reports that police have no motive why Wakefield attacked Mohr.Mohr suffered life-threatening injuries. The newspaper states in addition to the stab wounds, Mohr suffered blunt force trauma fractures and a brain injury.Police learned Wakefield was in Baltimore from his sister, Wendy Wakefield. The newspaper reported that Wakefield called his sister early last Thursday morning stating he was in trouble and might have killed someone. He also reportedly told his sister that he had a pocket knife used in the attack.His sister told authorities that her brother planned to go to North Dakota, according to the news article.Wakefield is still on probation in Carbon County. The newspaper reported Baltimore police are holding him on a probation violation until the attempted murder and related charges are filed by Bucks officials.
