Ethel Cadugan, a resident of The Village at Palmerton, celebrated her 93rd birthday on Jan. 16.
Originally from Jim Thorpe, she was married to Woodrow Cadugan and was a sample maker for Berkley Bags when the factory operated in downtown Jim Thorpe.
"Wages were a lot lower but I worked there less than four years, just until I could afford to buy a washer," Ethel states.
"Many women did that at that time," Ethel says. "If you wanted something, you worked for it!"
Ethel has four children and enjoys participating in word games, bingo, and exercise class at The Village at Palmerton.
