State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers over the past weekend on Schuylkill County roads.

A crash was reported about 4:14 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, along Valley Road, just north of Minersville, in Cass Township. Troopers said Henrietta Wentz, 63, of Seltzer, was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris southbound when she lost control on the snow-covered road. The car slid onto the southbound shoulder and struck an embankment.

Wentz was not injured but the vehicle sustained extensive suspension damages, troopers said, and required towing.

A crash was reported about 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, along SR4032, in West Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Brittannie E. Luscavage, 22, of Girardville, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am westbound when she drove over an area of slush/ice causing her to lose control. The car went onto the berm and struck a tree. Luscavage was not injured.

Troopers investigated a crash about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday along SR61 in Blythe Township. Troopers said Sandra Wolf, 46, of Frackville, was operating a 1997 Ford Escort southbound when she attempted to make a lane change from the left to the right. She lost control of the car on an icy patch. The vehicle left the road on the right side and struck an embankment. After impact the car continued south on the shoulder and struck a large boulder, then rolled over onto its roof and came to rest on the right shoulder facing north. Wolf sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene while her passenger, Emily J. Searfoss, 6, of Frackville, was not injured.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, along SR924, in West Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Rafael Meza-Gonzalez, 47, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer northbound when it left the road and traveled about 27 feet before striking a tree stump with the front bumper. After impact the Explorer traveled north about 72 feet where it began to roll onto its roof. It came to rest in the right lane on its roof facing north. Meza-Gonzalez sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Troopers said he was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
