Although no formal action has been taken, there is consideration being given to demolishing the closed St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Summit Hill.
The stately church, located at Hazard and Market Street across from the Summit Hill Post Office, was one of 47 parishes closed by the Diocese of Allentown in the summer of 2008.
St. Stanislaus Church, which was founded in 1924, was merged with St. Joseph's Church.
The church is currently boarded up with "no trespassing" signs on the snow-covered steps.
