Dear Editor:

I find it ironic that a state trooper would show up at a local council meeting and make a statement that if the council does not hire the three officers back full time, they may have the same problems as Hazleton. Hazleton has 37 full time officers and some part time.

Did I miss something? Most people in this area are on a fixed income and cannot afford the raises the unions are asking for. Some of the union members are not contributing toward their medical care. Most people in the area are, if they have it. Maybe it's time to appreciate what they have......
