State Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Northampton/Lehigh) will again host a college financial aid seminar for area students and their parents to help provide information and answer any questions they may have about financing higher education.

The seminar will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, in the auditorium at Catasauqua High school, 2500 W. Bullshead Road, Northampton. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

"Paying for a college or other secondary education can be daunting for many families, which is why I continue to host this seminar each year," said Harhart. "This is a great opportunity to get information and ask questions about the types of financial help available and how to successfully navigate the financial aid system. I encourage all area students and their families to join us and learn more about the many options available to them."

Those invited to attend the informational seminar include students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades from Catasauqua, Northampton, Northern Lehigh, and Parkland high schools, as well as students from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute and their parents.

Joining Harhart for the seminar will be representatives from Northampton County Community College, Kutztown University, Moravian College, The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, Empire Beauty School and Lincoln Technical Institute. Representatives will also be available to provide information about military funding and the PA 529 College Savings Program.

An overview will also be given on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, otherwise known as FAFSA.

To register for the event, please contact Harhart's Slatington district office at (610) 760-9802 or email Jodi in her district office at jnestor@pahousegop.com [1] and leave a name, telephone number and the number of people attending.
