The engagement of Lindsey D. Hinkle of Weatherly, to Michael J. Screenock of Freeland, has been announced by her parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of David and Kimberly (Kreiss) Hinkle of Weatherly. She is a 2003 graduate of Weatherly Area High School and a 2007 graduate of Shippensburg University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology.She is a certified phlebotomist through Luzerne County Community College and is employed as a laboratory assistant at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale.Lindsey is the granddaughter of Ilene Hinkle and the late Paul Hinkle of Weatherly; Dawn Blocker and the late Ronald "Butch" Blocker of Lehighton; and Ezra and Phyllis Kreiss of Palmerton.The prospective bridegroom is the son of David and Rosemary Screenock of Freeland. He is a 2005 graduate of Hazleton Area High School. He studied business at Luzerne County Community College. He is currently employed as a sales and service representative for Cintas in Wilkes-Barre.Michael is the grandson of John and Christine Screenock of Hazleton and Josephine Derr and the late William Derr of Harwood.A wedding date has been set for June 15 of this year.
