The engagement of Lindsey D. Hinkle of Weatherly, to Michael J. Screenock of Freeland, has been announced by her parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of David and Kimberly (Kreiss) Hinkle of Weatherly. She is a 2003 graduate of Weatherly Area High School and a 2007 graduate of Shippensburg University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology.

She is a certified phlebotomist through Luzerne County Community College and is employed as a laboratory assistant at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale.

Lindsey is the granddaughter of Ilene Hinkle and the late Paul Hinkle of Weatherly; Dawn Blocker and the late Ronald "Butch" Blocker of Lehighton; and Ezra and Phyllis Kreiss of Palmerton.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of David and Rosemary Screenock of Freeland. He is a 2005 graduate of Hazleton Area High School. He studied business at Luzerne County Community College. He is currently employed as a sales and service representative for Cintas in Wilkes-Barre.

Michael is the grandson of John and Christine Screenock of Hazleton and Josephine Derr and the late William Derr of Harwood.

A wedding date has been set for June 15 of this year.
