Weatherly alumni helps fund addictive behavior counseling

The Weatherly Area High School Alumni wants students to have support when it comes to addictive behaviors.

Recently, Rebekah McFadden, Weatherly Area School District school nurse and the Weatherly High School Student Assistance Program Team asked the Weatherly Area High School Alumni for a contribution to help fund a collaboration with Serento Gardens. They are collaborating with Serento Gardens, Alcoholism & Drug Services, to work to provide prevention, education, and support to students affected by addictive behavior. It includes school-based and one-on-one support for WAHS students. The team identified a significant need for counseling services that go beyond the scope of teachers, guidance and administration. There will be group and individual counseling for at-risk students and the community.
