State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers recently.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 2 p.m. on Jan. 13 along Blue Mountain Drive, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Andrew W. Rider, 19, of Bethlehem, was northbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Prizm when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2003 Subaru Outback driven by David Paul, 50, of Walnutport.

No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

A crash occurred about 3 p.m. on Jan. 20 along Lizard Creek Road, in East Penn Township. Trooper said Shari L. Noctor, 52, of Lehighton, was backing out westbound of a parking lot of Troxell Enterprise, while Clair F. Troxell, 55, of Lehighton, was southbound. Troopers said Noctor's 1998 Volvo collided with the right side of Troxell's 2004 Chrysler Sebring.

Noctor sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Palmerton hospital by Palmerton ambulance. Troxell was not injured.

Troopers cited Noctor for limitations on backing.

Troopers investigated a crash about on Jan. 23 about 1:08 p.m. along Lower Smith Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Tom E. Costenbader, 43, of Palmerton, operating a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria, was attempting a left turn into a drive way when his car was struck in the rear by a 2007 Hyundai Sonata driven by Barbara B. Huber, 61, of Kunkletown.

Both drivers were taken to the Palmerton hospital by Palmerton ambulance, troopers said. The Ford had to be towed from the scene. Huber was cited for following too closely.

A crash occurred about 4:22 p.m. on Jan. 28 along Blue Mountain Drive, in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Daniel J. Keen, 24, of Lehighton, was operating a 1996 Ford F150 pickup truck northbound when he crossed over into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2007 Honda Ody driven by Yosef Strickman, 37, of Passaic, N.J. No one was injured with the Honda towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Keen for traveling too fast for conditions.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 7:59 p.m. on Jan. 28 along Smith Lane Road, in East Penn Township. Troopers said Nicholas R. Sickonic, 19, of Palmerton, was driving a 2007 BMW 326XI eastbound when he lost control due to snow covered road conditions. The car left the road and crashed head-on into a tree. Sickonic was injured and taken to the Lehighton hospital, troopers said. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 9:55 a.m. on Jan. 29 along Meixell Valley Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Cristobal Arroyo, 79, of Effort, was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger eastbound when he lost control on the slush-covered road. The truck crossed the westbound lane and then went onto the berm where it struck a gate and tree head-on before coming to final rest.

Troopers cited Arroyo for driving at a (un) safe speed.

A one vehicle crash occurred on Jan. 31 about midnight along Dotters Corner Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Patrick M. Beil, 19, of Effort, was driving a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus eastbound and attempting to negotiate a left curve during periods of fog. He undercompensated for the turn, and said a deer ran out in front of him, prior to the crash. The car left the road on the south side and struck several small trees, and came to rest about five to eight feet off the road.

Beil was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 31 along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Carlton B. January, 43, of Walnutport, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck westbound, near the Palmerton off ramp, when he lost control due to ice and snow-covered road conditions. The truck spun clockwise and struck the guard rail on the right side.

Damages were disabling to the truck and January was injured and taken to the Palmerton hospital. He was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

Troopers investigated another one vehicle crash on Jan. 31, along Forest Inn Road, in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Cindy F. Lafaw, 57, of Lehighton, was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy northbound when she traveled over an icy patch. The vehicle began to turn sideways and crossed over the southbound lanes. It then struck a tree along the west berm. After impact it turned counter-clockwise and came to rest on the west berm.

Lafaw was not injured.

Another one vehicle crash on Jan. 31 about 11:40 p.m. occurred along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Daniel A. Knappenberger, 23, of Lehighton, was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi GS-T Spyder westbound and negotiating a slight left hand curve when the vehicle traveled over a icy patch. The ice had formed from water running off the mountain side and onto the road, troopers said.

Knappenberger lost control of the vehicle which slide off the north shoulder and impacted with the guard rail with the front end. The vehicle came to rest facing south along the north shoulder.

Damages were termed major to the front end and the vehicle had to be towed. Knappenberger was not injured.

Troopers investigated a hit and run crash at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township. The parked 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche of Dmitry Perov, of Bucks County, was struck on the left rear side by another vehicle whose driver fled the scene. The incident occurred sometime between 5 and 8:59 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3.
