The Marian Fillies jumped out to an early lead and claimed a Schuylkill League win over Mahanoy Area on Monday.

A strong first half put Marian over the top in scoring a 52-27 win over the Golden Bears.

The Fillies' Savanna Krusinsky led all scorers with a game-high 16 points, while Gabby Green followed with 12.

Lawrence led the Golden Bears with nine points.

In the JV game, Marian scored a 35-33 win over Mahanoy Area.

After a slow start, Pottsville recovered to post a 41-29 Schuylkill League Division I victory over Panther Valley (11-10, 3-8).

The Tides' Taylor Eckley led all scorers with 18 points.

Abbey Whildin paced the Panthers with nine points.

In the JV game, Pottsville rolled to a 54-16 win. Macey Markovich finished with six points for the Panthers.

Ahna Huss led the Blue Devils with a game-high 12 points.

The Wreckers' Dominique Adamczyk finished with a double-double canning 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Weatherly dropped to 5-14 overall and 1-11 in the SL.

In the JV game, Weatherly earned a 36-35 win. Courtney Lovett led the Wreckers with 11 points.

Mahanoy Area recorded a 33-21 victory over Tamaqua.

Joe Berezwick led the Blue Raiders with six points.

The Bears' Joseph and Evitts both had 12 points.

Tamaqua slips to 7-11 on the season.

EIGHTH GRADE

Tamaqua-Mahanoy Area

Tamaqua ended the regular season with a 28-24 victory over Mahanoy Area.

The Blue Raiders' Eddie Titus netted a team-high nine points, while Thad Zuber added eight.

The team finished the year with a 16-1 record.

Tamaqua-Weatherly

Thad Zuber scored 11 points and Eddie Titus added 10 to help Tamaqua edge Weatherly, 35-31.

The Wreckers received a game-high 12 points from MacNeal.
