Driver hurt when vehicles collide

One person was hurt in a two-vehicle collision at 8:35 a.m. Dec. 20 at the intersection of East Main Street and Manheim Road in North Manheim Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Lucille Moyer, 87, of Pottsville, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South, Pottsville, by the Schuylkill Haven/Pottsville Ambulance.Police said the accident happened when a 1989 Mack MR Series operated by Joseph Kriston, 49, of Branchdale, traveling south on Manheim Road, proceeded to make a left turn onto East Main Street after failing to observe a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero operated by Moyer approaching. Police said Kriston's vehicle struck the driver's side door of the Alero with its right front bumper. The car has to be towed from the scene.Police said Kriston will be cited for violating a stop/yield sign.
