Tamaqua woman cited

A Tamaqua woman has been cited following an altercation wit her parents on Dec. 8.

Patrolman Matthew Houser was dispatched to 33 Center St. at 1:20 p.m. that day for a possible domestic incident in progress. At the scene, he spoke with Joseph Parsons, who said his daughter, Ashley Parsons, 22, was "snapping out." Parsons had fresh cuts and blood on his face, reportedly caused by a punch from the daughter, who reportedly also struck her mother, Mary Bel Baribel. When the officer attempted to speak with Parsons, she continued to scream and cause a commotion. When told she was being placed under arrest, she became even more uncooperative and had to be physically restrained. She was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer on charges of simple assault and harassment. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
